Task 9 - Share and Test Your Message
Read each card as if you were visiting this school for the first time. Can you understand where to go, when to meet and what to bring?
π£ Your presentation
Your Visitor Help Card from Task 8 is ready to present.
Present it aloud, or let the card speak for itself - both are valid ways to share.
Step 1 - Respond to 3 classmates' cards with the Wonder Feedback Protocol
Luca's Visitor Help Card
Phrase: "Where exactly should we meet?"
"Join our Green Welcome Challenge! Meet at the school garden gate at 14:30. Bring a reusable water bottle."
One detail I understood from your invitation:
Mei's Visitor Help Card
Phrase: "What should I bring, please?"
"Meet at the garden gate, beside the school garden, at half past two in the afternoon (14:30). Bring a water bottle - or ask the teacher for a cup."
One thing that helped me understand:
Omar's Visitor Help Card
Phrase: "Could you say that again, please?"
"Green Welcome Challenge: meet at the garden gate at 14:30. Bring a reusable bottle if you have one."
One question I would still ask:
Save the gallery
π£ Visitor Help Cards - Class Gallery
All the Visitor Help Cards presented today, saved as a class artefact - available to share with parents and school leadership.
"As you listened to others, you noticed what helped a reader - and what still needed to be asked."
What happens in Task 9
A 2-minute Phase 5 - Propagation activity. Students present their own Visitor Help Card, then review 3 example cards from classmates and respond to each using one prompt from the Wonder Feedback Protocol, before saving the class gallery as an artefact.
π― Learning objectives
Check whether a message really guides someone else, not just whether it sounds correct. Practise giving and receiving constructive, curious feedback in English.
βΏ SEN Adaptations
- Recorded presentation option: pre-record a 30-second voice note instead of presenting live
- Visual-only presentation accepted - the card speaks for itself
- Reduced feedback: 1 of 3 prompts is the minimum requirement
π¨οΈ No-Tech Format
- Gallery walk: printed cards displayed around the classroom
- Students rotate around the gallery in 2-minute intervals
- Feedback written on sticky notes and placed beside each card
