Task 4 - Test 1: Absorbency

Pour 50 ml of water onto each sheet, let it drip, then measure what's left.

πŸ”’ Home Lab safety Use only water and lightweight materials. Work on a tray, keep a cloth ready, and have an adult nearby. If you don't have the materials, use the Virtual Lab tab.
Step 1 - Choose your lab and record all four results
Pour 50 ml onto each sheet, dip 5 seconds, let it drip 5 seconds, then enter how much water is left (ml) for each product.
Press Dip for each product, watch, then read the measuring cylinder.
Step 2 - Rank best (most absorbed) to worst
1st - 4pts
β€”
2nd - 3pts
β€”
3rd - 2pts

4th - 1pt

Sleep, water, food and movement support energy - and now you've measured absorbency with real numbers. On to wet strength.

What happens in Task 4

A 4-minute Phase 3 - Investigation activity. Students choose a Home Lab or Virtual Lab, measure how much water each of four products absorbs, then rank the products from best to worst.

🎯 Learning objectives

To conduct a simple, repeatable comparative product test and to collect and record quantitative data.
