Task 1 - They Look the Same. Are They?

Four apparently identical objects and one deceptively simple question. The goal is curiosity, not information.

A good kitchen towel should be…
Think about what a kitchen towel has to do, what it costs you, and what it costs the planet.
What professional testers compare
Can something be the best product if we haven't decided what "best" means? Professional testers compare these four things:
๐Ÿ’ง Absorbency
๐Ÿช™ Strength
๐Ÿ“ Amount / value
๐Ÿท๏ธ Sustainability evidence
๐Ÿงช CONSUMER TESTING LAB

Today, you are the consumer-testing laboratory.

Wonder begins with a surprising gap between what we think we share and what others may infer. Let's learn what makes a test fair.

What happens in Task 1

A 5-minute Phase 1 - Anticipation activity. Students watch a silent macro zoom, look at four sheets for 30 seconds, vote on a prediction poll, write as many "best at what?" criteria as they can, then compare their list with what professional testers use before accepting the consumer-testing-lab challenge.

๐ŸŽฏ Learning objectives

To create curiosity and emotional engagement without giving definitions yet, and to surface what students already assume "best" means before any test is run.
