💡 Phase 4 - Discovery
💡 Discovery
⏱ 5 minutes
Task 7 - Lightbulb Moment
Synthesise your group's work and realise that ICT is not just a neutral tool, but a battleground for identity. Rotate through three Discovery Stations to find the "A-HA!" moment.
Step 1 - Visit all three Discovery Stations
Step 2 - The Discovery Question
Bring it all together
When you look at your research, your critique and your creation together, what is the one thing that technology can never successfully capture about a human being?
✅ Saved to your portfolio as "Phase 4 - Lightbulb Moment".
Bridge to Task 8
"We often think of 'survival' as a physical act, but in the 21st century, survival is also the act of not letting your identity be erased by a screen. Now, write it down for yourself."
What happens in Task 7
A 5-minute Phase 4 - Discovery activity. Three Discovery Stations (Beauty vs. Algorithm, Mystery vs. Visibility, Motivation vs. Noise) present a provocation each - students respond briefly at each one, unlocking a discovery insight - before a final synthesising question.
🎯 Learning objectives
Move from group-specific tasks to a collective realisation: technology is not a neutral tool, but a battleground for identity. Integrate research, critique and creation into a coherent, unified understanding.
♿ SEN Adaptations
- Voice input accepted at every station and for the final question
- Pre-loaded example response students may adapt instead of writing from scratch
🖨️ No-Tech Format
- Students form "Discovery Trios" (one member from each group) and rotate physically between three station posters
- Each trio discusses aloud and writes one shared answer per station
