✏️ Phase 5 - Propagation 🎨 Create ⏱ 6 minutes

Activity 6 - Make Something and Share It

You have looked. You have researched. You have checked. Now you make. Not a copy. A response. One rule only: use one of the five elements on purpose, and be ready to say which one.

Step 1 - Choose how you'll respond
🎨
Draw
Canvas, 8 colours, 3 brush sizes, undo
✍️
Write
Four lines, max 60 characters each
🎙
Record
Twenty seconds, one retake
Step 2 - Create
⏳ About thirty seconds left - finish where you are, unfinished is fine.
Which element did you use on purpose?
Why? (optional · max 120 characters)
Step 3 - "For me, art is…"
For you, right now - what is art? Not the museum answer. Not the teacher answer. Yours. Max 250 characters.
Step 4 - Add one card to the Class Wonder Map
Add your creation, or one word for the thing that surprised you most today.
"Something I still don't understand"
- another student
😲 surprise
- another student
"Why does the same painting make one person cry and another laugh?"
- another student
In a live class, a teacher approves each card before it appears to classmates - here it is added straight to this session's map so you can see how it works.
"Your statement is saved. It might look different in a year. It might look different tomorrow. That does not mean it was wrong. It means you are still thinking."

What happens in Activity 6

A 6-minute Phase 5 - Propagation activity. Choose Draw, Write or Record - shown with equal visual weight, none is the "default". Create for up to 4 minutes (no countdown shown; a soft prompt appears with about 30 seconds left). Name which element you used on purpose. Then a short, deliberately brief "For me, art is…" statement (250 chars), shared only if you opt in - off by default. Finally, add one card to the Class Wonder Map.

🎯 Learning objectives

Make an original response to an artwork using at least one element learned today. Say why you made the choices you made. Put your own idea of art into one sentence. Contribute one thing to a shared class artefact.

🎙 On the Record option

This build simulates recording (tap-to-record UI, animated waveform, one retake) rather than capturing real audio - no lesson on this platform uses the browser's real microphone or camera APIs, and this activity matches that convention.

♿ SEN Adaptations
  • Drawing accepted anywhere in the lesson, including instead of the Write or Record formats
  • Voice input on the statement field and the "why" field
  • No visible countdown during creation for any format; extended time available from the accessibility profile
  • Assessment is based on engagement, not volume produced
🖨️ No-Tech Format
  • Barely needs technology - paper, pencils and a wall work perfectly
  • Print-pack card 6 is the statement card plus a blank creation panel
  • Wonder Map becomes sticky notes on a large sheet - photograph it afterwards
